About the Bride

Meet Stella!

Stella was born in the glorious city of Ste-Foy (not a suburb of Quebec City). Being a big fan of hockey, she day-dreamed over Pavel Bure -- she has two autographed hockey cards from him -- and is still bitter over the Nordiques moving to Colorado.

At 19, she moved to Montreal, where she enrolled at University of Montreal for her Bachelor's and Master's. In Montreal, Stella divided her time between dragonboat competitions, being a Plateau resident par excellence, and upgrading her educational credentials by attending McGill for her PhD in molecular biology. She's an avid foodie, always on the lookout for that great new bistro.

In 2013, Stella moved to Venice, where she is starting a postdoc at UCLA, is adapting to the beach lifestyle and getting used to finally living in a city that won the Stanley Cup recently
