About the Groom

Meet Dumitru!

Doomie grew up in Chisinau, Moldova. He took ballroom dancing as teenager and worked as a radio DJ from 1999-2001. At 18, he moved to Germany for his undergraduate studies at Jacobs University Bremen and majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Doomie is a serial intern: he spent 6 summers as a slave in Finland, Germany, UK and California. It is unclear how he chose Quebec but Doomie quickly adopted poutine, hockey and Les Cowboys Fringants. More importantly/productively, he also obtained a MSc and a PhD from University of Montreal, where he met Stella.

After a short stint in San Francisco, Doomie is now a Googler in Venice, where he wishes Stella would bike around more often. He fancies himself a scientist and it makes the bride laugh.
